Mr S. R. Bennett, the new Mayor of Timaru, automatically becomes a vice-president of the 1974 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee. The appointments of president and vice-presidents are through office and Mr Bennett replaces his predecessor, Mr D. R. Dowell, as one of the committee’s four vice-presidents.
