Dedication of church

A hall in Marriotts Road, North Brighton, which has been used for Anglican services and other parish activities for the last 25 years, has been converted to enable it to be used permanently as a church. The converted building will be dedicated by the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt Rev. W. A. Pyatt) at a service in the hall tomorrow evening. The Rev. D. Thompson, ; priest-missioner of the district, which was formerly (part of the New Brighton I parish, said that alterations to the hall had been done during the last 15 months mainly by voluntary labour. A tower had been built in front of the hall, one wall had been extended and the sanctuary had been moved so that seating could be placed on three sides. Sunday school classes and other activities will now be held in a hall opposite the church.
