Middle mostly in Rotorua Cup last Saturday after fair effort behind Gene over Ilf. at EllersUe. January 30. Has raced well at Te Rapa but latest efforts hardly good enough. Won three liigh-weighte at Ellerslie at Christmas, then gained staying win in Urn. International Cup on February 1. Has improved to look a most capable distance runner. Should stay too well for most In this. A. Tweedie. S 3MO PAPAHU (*) Ml. Lost Rotorua Cup chance last Saturday when very slow away. Previously ran on in International after being long way back. Has often looked good and has won here. Has won at Te Rapa and is worth another chance. G.

Edge. 7 4126 TAMA (13) 7-11. Kept close up to home turn then weakened in the last furlong of tlie Rotorua Cup after a good second to Gene at Ellerslie on January 30. Fine win middle-distance at Pukekohe on January 23- Rotorua run had merit, certainly worth consideration again. • 1935 CHARON (3) 7-11. Weakened last start, Matamata Cup, IOJf., after very close third over a mile at Ellerslie on February 1. Earlier won at Thames. Has run some good distances but looks better going a mile. Last bit might test him. G. Willetts. 9 0832 E TIM I (17) 7-10. Racing well and perhaps the best finisher. The Matamata Cup was his last start when beaten by Alison. Previous third was behind King Amber over IJm. at Ellerslie. Won mile at Te Rapa in November in good style. D. Peake. 10 4860 SHANTUNG (20) 7-10. Top galloper two years ago but disappointing lately. Won a middle-distance handicap at Rotorua about seven weeks ago but has not looked as good since. Well. beaten at Trentham in last two distance starts.

11 0596 UNTRIED (21 7-7. Surprise winner of Summer Cup at Ellerslie but has shown nothing like the same form in four attempts since. Finished tenth out of 20 last start Hard to fancy. J. Ran on well behind King Amber in the International last start after good effort over Ilf. at Avondale on January 16. Judged by those efforts, a real chance. 13 MM SPRINGLO (4) 7-4. Never improved from midfield last start, the Rotorua Cup last Saturday. Too far from best form to be conceded much chance. P14 1141 DOLLAR BILL (17) 7-5. Model of consistency which looked promising In highweight company and very promising when he won at this last start, the hack middle-distance event at Matamata, February 6. If he continues his improvement, could well be up to a good showing here. 15 1547 BEACHLANDS (5) 7-4. Bit disappointing in Matamata Cup, when about middle all the way. Raced fairly well previous two attempts at Ellerslie and Avondale. Recent form hardly good enough. 14 ROM EL TOMBO (6) 7-4. Has shown nothing in four starts after long spell. Beat three last start, which was in Matamata Cup. No chance on that 17 «BM ILLICIT (U) 7-4. Made only moderate showing last start in the Matamata Cup and well back the time before over IHf, Pukekohe. Has shown no form of any account In seven starts this season. Might improve when ground softens. It 4475 MASTER HAGEN (4) 7-4. Has done nothing lately to suggest a winning chance. 1* MM PUNJABI (7) 7-4. Has done nothing of any account for a long while. Finished near rear at only two starts this season.
