Police to take look
“We will be having a good, hard look at sideshow alley,*’ said the Commander of the Christchurch Police Division (Chief Superintendent G. Tait) yesterday. “Uniform and plainclothes police will be used. We won’t stand for anything illegal—red, white and blue and overs-and-unders are out “Judging by previous performances in recent years, the police could be busy. The public must be protected,” Mr Tait said.
