MINIMUM STAKES
No relief for West Coast West Coast racing clubs want* Ing to include events for pacers on their programmes will have to observe the minimum stakes schedule adopted by the annual meeting of the Trotting Conference in Wellington in July. A deputation of West Coast racing clubs, headed by Mr D. J. Hyndman, of Hokitika, yesterday made representations to the executive of the conference for permission to pay stakes below the level of the schedule. The deputation was told that no changes would be made to the schedule for 12 months and then wily if the annual meeting of the conference grants permission.
