Trip to Snares

(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, Nov. 9. The fisheries research ship James Cook will leave Nelson tomorrow on a 16-day trip to search for prawns and to take a University of Canterbury study party to the Snares, south-west of Stewart Island. The party of four will study the ecology, bird, and other life on the islands. It will be picked up by the James Cook in Bluff next week. The master of the Marine Department vessel, Captain J. W. Brew, said today the ship would search for prawns while circumnavigating the South Island on the voyage.
