FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation. —A large anticyclone centred in the Tasman Sea west of Taranaki is moving very slowly north-east and extends over New Zealand and‘most of the Tasman Sea. Forecast: t Canterbury and the Kaikoura Coast.—: Light variable winds, north-easterlies predominating about the coast in the afternoon; fine and mild during the day but some cloudy areas likely at first this morning and again tonight, with cool conditions. Central Marlborough, the Sounds, Nelson, Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate winds, mainly westerly; rather cloudy, with a few drizzle patches at first in the morning; some bright intervals may develop for a time in the afternoon; temperatures moderate. Outlook for all districts: similar weather.
