HOTEL SOUGHT

Moves to purchase the 91-year-old Grosvenor Hotel in Moorhouse Avenue will be taken soon by the Ministry of Works on behalf of the Department of Education. This was announced at last evening’s meeting of the board of governors of the Christchurch Technical Institute. The Grosvenor Hotel, which is owned by the Cross Estate, will eventually be demolished to make way for a new classroom block for the institute.
