Professorship in surgery

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 8. Mr A. M. Clarke, son of the noted Auckland surgeon, Mr J. Maxwell Clarke, has been appointed professor of surgery at Otago University. After two years of postgraduate study at Western Infirmary, Glasgow, during which he was awarded a Nub field travelling fellowship, Mr Clarke Jr., returned to New Zealand in 1964. He then took up a position as lecturer in surgery at the University of Otago Medical School, Dunedin. Last year when attached to the surgical unit at Dunedin hospital he was elected as the travailing fellow for 1970 by the James IV Association of Surgeons.
