Big entry at Te Aroha
(N.Z. Press Association) TE AROHA. A total of 230 nominations has been received by the Te Aroha Jockey Club for the rich New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes at the club’s February meeting next year. The race, to be run over one mile, will be limited to 16 startlers and will carry a stake of $9OOO which, together with free stud awards to 16 of New Zealand’s top stallions and other valuable trophies, will make the total value of the race in excess of $25,000. South Island nominations include Susan Jane, Princess Mellay, Lady Mellay, Sailing Home, and My Boa.
