The Minister of Overseas Trade (Mr Marshall) yesterday received the good wishes and support of the Leader t>f the Opposition (Mr Kirk) before departing for overseas conferences on the European Economic Community. Two petitions were presented. An agriculture bill was introduced and read a first time. Two local bills were read a first time and passed to the Local Bills Committee. , The Social Security Amendment Bill (No. 3), a private member’s measure, was introduced and read a first time. The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill was committed, then read a third time. The House was considering the Fisheries Amendment Bill when it rose at 4 pm. until 2.30 pm. on Tuesday.
