Cottrell Has Last Chance
(From T. P. McLEAN) DURBAN. W. D. Cottrell has been chosen at centre, as a last trial of his qualifications in the position, • for the All Blacks’ match against Southern Universities at Cape Town on Tuesday. His play on Saturday, against Natal, seriously damaged his chances. In fact, he played so indifferently that afterwards he was examined at length by a doctor who suspected he might have suffered concussion. Happily, this was not so. It is scarcely likely that Cottrell will again be so out of sorts with his hands. Nevertheless, his test chances have been affected. So, too, in the forwards have those of A. E. Hopkinson suffered. His play, especially at the line-out against Natal, was not his best. If K. Murdoch plays well against Universities, it is likely he will get his first test cap. The team is: G. F. Kember; M. J. Dick, Cottrell, H. P. Milner; . I. R. Macßae, B. D. M. Furlong; * S. M. Going: B. J. Lochore; A. * J. Wyllie, C. E. Meads, J. F. * Burns; I. A. Kirkpatrick: Mur- • doch, R. A. Urlich, B. Muller. • Reserves: B. E. McLeod. B. Holmes, C. R. Laidlaw, W. L. * Davis.
