INVITATION TO P.M.
Front Rankers Rugby Club (N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) EAST LONDON. The Prime Minister (Sir Keith Holyoake) has been invited to join an exclusive Rugby club-—Front Rankers International. Its membership includes some of the top props and hookers of pas.t and present international teams, among them the famous Springboks, C. Koch and J. Bekker. The club has its main headquarters in Cape Town and the president (Mr B. Maguire) has made the offer of honorary membership to Sir Keith Holyoake, who has been sent an official club tie and a copy of the club’s constitution. In a'letter to the Prime Minister, Mr Maguire said: “We notice from press cuttings that you were a hooker of note in your representative days and we think you would be interested in our unique club.” The club has also conferred honorary membership on all six front rankers in the present All Black team, and on the coach (Mr I. M. H. Vodanovich), an All Black prop in 1955.
