Liquor Prices Increased
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 20. Prices of spirits and bottled export-strength beer in hotels owned by New Zealand Breweries, Ltd, rose today in prestige-type bars with special or exclusive decor. A spokesman for the firm said that prices in ordinary bars were not affected. Spirits costing 24c rose by 2c and those costing more than 25c rose by 3c. The special type of bottled beer rose 2c. The price of draught beer remained unchanged. A spokesman for Dominion Breweries, Ltd, said prices were being looked into and would be comparable with other brewery groups.
