Mr Shelton To Open Fair
This year’s New Zealand Industries Fair, the thirtythird under that name, will be officially opened at Canterbury Court tomorrow afternoon by the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Shelton). The fair is one of the biggest since industries fairs began in 1937.
Mr Shelton will be welcomed to the fair by Mr J. D. Bull, president of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association, and Mr R. H. Stewart, chairman of the fair committee.
Last year 120,000 persons attended the fair. This year the attendance is expected to reach 150,000. One of the chief attractions of the fair, which will run until September 5, will be a mini television channel. The N.Z.B.C. will operate IFTVS ' during the fair.
