Charity Film Premiere

Singers in period costume sang madrigals in the foyer of. the Odeon Theatre last evening as guests arrived to attend the charity premiere of the fllm, “Anne of a Thousand Days.” The proceeds will go to the Cholmondeley Children’s Home. The band of the 2nd Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, played in the street before it joined the tudor singers in the theatre where more items were given. The chairman of the Choi, mondeley Children’s Home Board (Mr C. L. Paterson) thanked those present for sup port and said he was grate ful for the costumes worn by the stars of the film, Richard Burton and Genevieve Bujold being flown to Christchurch for the occasion.
