A small C. F. Goldie oil study of a Ngatiawa chieftainness, Wiripine Ninia Ngatiawa, sold for S4BOO at an auction in Auckland yesterday, compared with 87000 arid 55600 respectively for two! (larger Goldies sold recently i A W. Wright watercolour [reached 5450. while $240 was ! paid for a Goldie oil painted [in his Paris student days. A Coromandel water colour by ■I C. Hoyte fetched $530. I(P.A.)
