Education Bd Nominees

Nominations closed on Wednesday for candidates to fill eight positions on the Canterbury Education Board. The terms of office of eight members of the board will expire on August 12, and in each of the Christchurch citywards affected more than one nomination was received. As only one nomination a ward was received from the five country wards the candidates were duly elected. They are: Messrs A. S. Murray (north ward No. 1), D. ],. Waghorn (north-central ward No. 1), E. F. Ayers (southcentral ward No. 1), J. P. Ponsonby (south ward No. 2), and S. W. Sansom (west ward No. 1). An election will be held on July 15 for the three city wards. Candidates are:— Christchurch ward No. 1: Mr M. C. Butler, Mrs R. J. Cowell; Christchurch No. 2, Messrs W. J. Cartwright, T. J. Pettersen, Mrs J. E. Putze; Christchurch No. 5: Messrs S. W. Gower, G. D. Stanley.
