Proud Chief is opposed by a weak assortment tomorrow, i Honourbright and Styleman are, at their best, hard to beat in any company, but Honourbright is hardly racing well enough to be supported with much confidence and Styleman looks as though he would be all the better for the race Blue Winter, Alcantus and Ramlegh are capable on their day. Treasure Castle and De Julio likewise, even if they are unable to boast records as good, but none could be I
mentioned in the same breath as Proud Chief. The Inglewood mare. Lady Defence, has won six races on the course and she looks in line to add another, the President's Handicap. the second leg of the main double, an event she included last year among her victories. I Choucuana. a high-class mare which went amiss just before the Auckland Cup carnival last year, and Foxvale. another out of the top drawer, add spice to the array Both are resuming after long spells and Choucuana might sprint very boldly while fresh.
