DEATH OF MAN

Police Not Neglectful (N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 24. There was no question of any neglect on the part of the police, the Wellington Coroner (Mr J. Meltzer) said today during an inquest on a man who died in Wellington Hospital after being brought there from the Central Police Station cells. The Coroner found that Charles Stewart Fergusson Stiring died on March 28, his death being caused by a fracture of the skull and cerebral haemorrhage associated with chronic liver failure.

The Coroner said he had taken some pains to inquire as to whether the man’s condition could have ot should have been detected by the police.
