SCHOOLBOY TREK
2000 Expected To Take Part More than 2000 persons are expected to take part in a trek organised by the Canterbury Rugby league schoolboys’ board of control tomorrow morning. The trek, the first to be arranged to promote schoolboy Rugby league, will be held over a three mile course beginning and ending at the Show Grounds and will have a time limit of three hours. Prominent administrators, some with their families, and open grade players are expected to swell the number of walkers drawn from the schoolboy grades. The schoolboys’ board will receive 29 I>er cent of the money raised from the sponsoring of the walkers, the rest to be diverted to the clubs taking part.
Prizes would be awarded in all grades, in addition to an over-all club prize. The prizes will be presented at the board’s annual gala day, on August 16.
