Sub-Assn Table Tennis

a. Thomson (Mld-Canttr-bury) and Mrs J. Foster (North Canterbury) won the men’s and wamen’s singles titles In the Canterbury Table Tennis Sub-assoclatlon’s tournament In Christchurch on Sunday. Thomson reached the ’ Anal after beating G. Allin and T. Green and then R. Jenkins (Mid-Canterbury) in three games. Mrs Foster had two hard attacking games to beat Mrs D. Findlay in the final of the Women’s singles. Thomson and Mrs Foster also won titles in the doubles events. North Canterbury, with a strong force of live teams, was the dominant sub-association at the tournament, its top team winning with a 34-polnt margin from Malvern.
