Military authorities-in Manila say they have discovered evidence which may link a national youth organisation with a Communist plot to overthrow the Philippines Government A police spokesman says captured documents and testimonies of southern village leaders tend to link the Kabataang Makabayan organisation with the plot. A Manila-based youth organisation, it has about 1000 members and is the spearhead of a movement against what it calls feudalism, fascism and American imperialism. The Secretary of Defence (Mr Juan Ponce Enrile) and the Chief of Police (Mr Eduardo Garcia) drove to a southern village yesterday to investigate reports that seven leaders of the movement had been conducting “teach-ins” there.
