Hay Burner In Work
Hay Burner will start another racing campaign at the Ashburton meeting later this month when he will contest a sprint event. The four-year-old is pleasing his part-owners, J. J. Cowan and I O Phillips, in his preparatory work and if he trains on well'a visit to Melbourne for the cup might be made. Hav Burner showed highly promising staying form as a hack and an open performance which suggested that the elevated grade will not hold any terrors for him was when he filled second place to Pretentious. which beat him by less than a length in the Provincial Handicap of one mile and a quarter at the summer meeting at Riccarton. He gave Pretentious 31b that day and shortly after Pretentious won the George Adams Handicap beating Baghdad Note and Every Post.
