The New Zettlund sharemarket continued to recover strongly, with a substantial margin of rises over falls. Leading shares again predominated, and some good gains were made.
Waitaki—which announcedl a 3:10 bonus issue last week I —and.R. A. Brierley Investments stood out: each rose 30c. Skellerup and Wellington Gas recovered 10c each. Other rises were smaller, but Winstone, Prestige, D. McL. Wallace, Rothmans, and
i New Zealand Newspapers I were only a few among the I useful gainers. The overseas list also included some good recoveries: C.S.R., A.C.I. and Hamersley were highlights. However. B.H.P, and Mt Isa offset these gains with losses of 40c and 30c, to 1700 c each.
Among New Zealand shares which lost ground N.Z. Forest Products, 6c down to 402 c. and U.E.B. should be mentioned.
