Explosives Stolen
A large quantity of explosives was stolen from the Manchester Street magazine of Ashby Bergh, Ltd, on Monday night but the theft was reported to the police only yesterday. About three-quarters of a box of gelignite and two reels of cordex tape explosive were stolen. The explosive stolen is worth about 890. An electric organ and other musical instruments worth a total of $lOOO were stolen from a car parked in Edward Avenue on Tuesday night In other burglaries reported to the police recently two transistor radios worth a total of $3O were stolen from a house in Ward Street, clothing and a transistor radio worth a. total of $6O was taken from a flat in Park Terrace, and tools and a barometer worth a total of $66 were taken from Auto Parts (Chch), Ltd, Tuam Street.
