At Ebbw Vale: Glamorgan beat Nottinghamshire by seven wickets. Nottinghamshire 126 (36 overs; D. Williams three for 16, D. Shepherd three for 19), Glamorgan 129 for three (38 overs; B. A. Davis 48). Glamorgan 4 points.

At Birmingham: Warwickshire beat Essex by three wickets. Essex 187 for eight declared (40 overs: B. Taylor 53: W. Blenkiron three for 28). Warwickshire 188 for seven (39.4 overs; J. Jameson 87, R. B. Kanhai 41 not out). Warwickshire 4 points.
