HEATING IN MINE

(N.Z. Press Association) GREYMOUTH, April 6. The Strongman State coalmine will be idle for three days as a result of heating in the mine last night The beating was discovered by a deputy during a preshift inspection and the small section involved was sealed off. Mining regulations insist that there be no work in a mine for 48 hours after the discovery of heating. Production at Strongman will not resume until Thursday.

Hawea Sails.—The roll-on vessel Hawea, which was delayed at Lyttelton last weekend after watersiders refused to work cargo on Saturday afternoon, completed loading yesterday afternoon and sailed for Dunedin at 4 p.m. The Hawea is due to return to Lyttelton from Dunedin tomorrow on her way back to Auckland.
