(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, April 6. Waikato’s first offshore oil well was today boring steadily downwards after drillers struck problems at a depth of 1450 feet late last week. These difficulties, encountered when the hole was being lined with casing, were overcome on Saturday, a spokesman for Hematite Petroleum (N.Z.), Ltd, said in a telephone interview from New Plymouth today.
