Mess Time In Good Trial
"The Press" Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH.
Mess Time and Sarelle were the beat workers at Awapuni yesterday morning when Anal trials were completed tor the first day of the Wanganui Jockey Club’s meeting.
Nearly all the work was done on the plough which was in good order.
Mess Time and Locarno hit out well in running a mile in Imin 48sec, the last three in 40 3-ssec being the fastest part of the work. Mess Time did his work really well and is ready for a bold race against the hack stayers.
Sarelle accompanied Little Annie over five furlongs. Syreno started with them but finished well behind, the other two looked fit in completing the journey in Imin ssec, the last three in 39 l-ssec. Aku Hoa, which is top-weight and likely favourite in that event, worked over two rounds and sprinted his last three furlongs easily in 40 2-ssec. He looks at his best.
