TROTTING Manaroa Should Win At Forbury Tomorrow

Manaroa’s splendid second to Intrepid in the N ew Brighton Cup at Addington Raceway on Wednesday assures him of solid support in the first heat of the Dunedin Festival Cup at Forbury Park tomorrow evening.

Manaroa made a bad beginning but he was hampered slightly by another runner. Even sc he did not go into the mad gallop which marked some of his earlier bad beginnings. Then, towards the finish, he was coming back at Intrepid an outstanding effort in the circumstances. Provided he moves off reasonably well, he should go close to gaining at overdue win. Stella Frost, one of the leading New Zealand conten ders for the Inter-Dominior Championships in Melbourne next month, will create tre mendous interest She has recovered fully from the cole which prevented her starting at the Wellington Cup meet ing earlier in the month anc if she is near her peak, she should be one of the best prospects. True Averil was a shade disappointing when fourth was the best he could man age in the New Brighton Cuf after having what appeared to be every chance. He is i hardy paeer and might be improved by the race. He is capable of winning. There will be solid supporl

i for James, a winner at Hutt I Park and Tauranga in the last few weeks. This hardy and | widely-travelled six-year-old ! is seldom guilty of a poor race and he must be given a chance of success. i Glenda Hanover, Radiant I Globe and Seafield Countess ; are three capable pacers i engaged on the limit and ' along with Meadow Bank ; they appeal most of the remainder. Meadow Bank, like ; Stella Frost, is a candidate ‘for the Inter-Dominion Chamj pionships in Melbourne. Waratah, Pun and Irish i Whispers are three likely I candidates for the second leg, the Gold Bar Pace, a race 5 in which the chances of Inky ' Boy and Upper Class are also . highly rated. j The on-course concession I double will be on the Highland Fling Pace and the i False Step Pace, Seafield Queen and Local Rose form- : ing a likely combination. j The jackpot will be on ! races two to seven inclusive. The pool will start at $4427. OH-COURSE DOUBLE i*J* p.m.— RICHLAND FLING FACE. $1000: 2:10 class; mobile start: 13f. 13163 Alton Prince <l2l It 3423 Dillon's Lass (7) .. It 7126 Black Anne I4> it
