SHAW SAVILL BUYS A CANADIAN LINER—The Empress of England (24,467 tons), which has been bought by the Shaw Savill and Albion Company, Ltd, from Canadian Pacific Steamships, Ltd. Delivery will be taken in April. The ship was bull tin England in 1957 and will be used by the Shaw Savill Line to augment its service linking the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. She will also be used for cruising. At present she accommodates 160 first-class and 884 tourist-class passengers, but will be converted into a one-ciass ship.
