Wattie Wins Wood Bros

(N.Z. Pres's Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 29.

The directors of J. Wattie Canneries, Ltd, said today that in response to their offer to the shareholders of Wood Brothers, Ltd, of Christchurch, acceptances and options totalling 371,636 shares had been received by Wednesday. This represents 92.91 per cent of the total shareholding of the Christchurch flour and chicken operator and satisfies before January 31 the condition in the offer applicable to acceptances.

Watties said it had' decided to extend the date for remaining acceptances to Monday, February 16, by which date it was expected that all conditions of the offer would have been fulfilled.
