Australians Successful (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The two Australian women contestants in the national croquet tournament, Mrs T. Harrison and Mrs M. Merrylees, had a good day in play which continued yesterday. Mrs Harrison beat Mrs Merrylees in the first game and then both went on to win their other matches. Results were:— Women's Championship Singles.—Mrs T. Harrison (Australia) beat Mrs M. Merrylees (Australia), 26-7; Mrs Harrison beat Mrs F. Dorman (Auckland), 26-12; Mrs B. A. Jarden (Wellington) beat Mrs L. Middlemlss (Franklin). 26-18: Mrs R. Elliott (Auckland) beat Mrs Jarden. 26'10: Miss Elliott beat Mrs E. Hight (Morrinsville), 26-21; Mrs Jarden beat Miss B. Solomon (Auckland), 26-8; Mrs Merrylees beat Mrs A. Johnstone (Auckland), 26-7; Mrs Merrylees beat Mrs T. Harwood (Wellington), 26-4. Men's Singles.—G. Rowling (Nelson) beat L. Pomeroy (Christchurch), 26-7, 26-23; K. Woollett (Ohakune) beat L. Middlemlss (Franklin), 26-10. 26-19; J. Prince (Wellington) beat Woollett. 26-23, 26-5; C. Crosby (Hastings) beat C. Treadgold (Auckland). 15-26, 26-15, 26-21; Crosby beat C. Wadsworth (Auckland). 26-23, 26-23; Prince beat Crosby, 26-3, 26-12. Handicap Singles.—Mrs Harrison beat Mrs C.
