NIGERIAN TRIAL

(N.Z.P.A .-Reuter—Copyright) LAGOS, Jan. 29. A group of 32 Roman Catholic missionaries, some of them women, who worked in the secessionist territory of Biafra throughout the civil war, will be deported from Nigeria, according to highly-reliable sources in Lagos. All 32 have been tried by Federal authorities in Port Harcourt on charges of entering Nigeria illegally, and each has been found guilty and fined the equivalent of SNZ4O. They have all been issued with deportation orders, and are expected to be put aboard a flight out of Lagos later today or tomorrow, the sources say. One of the missionaries is an American, six of the remainder are British, and 25 are Irish.

Reports reaching Lagos say that they have all been well treated and were given a fair trial.
