ARRIVAL OF VACCINE

(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, November 13. The first relief shipment of 500 doses of measles vaccine for New Zealand arrived at Palmerston North yesterday. The emergency shipment was air-freighted from Glaxo Laboratories in London in response to an urgent cablegram sent last week by the New Zealand company. Glaxo Laboratories in Palmerston North is, at present, the only New Zealand supplier of the vaccine. The company’s, stocks ran out last week after a flood or orders from the Bay of Plenty, where measles have reached almost epidemic proportions.
