FORCE IN KOREA

Withdrawal Opposed (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) NEW YORK, Nov. 13. Subversion, and violation of the Korean Armistice Agreement, by North Korea continued unchecked, the Australian representative (Mr Patrick Shaw), told the United Nations General Assembly’s Main Political Com--1 mittee today. In view of this, Mr Shaw said, there was justifiable criticism of the suggestion that the United Nations force should be withdrawn. On the re-unification of Korea, Mr Shaw said: “It will not be achieved by acts of direct or indirect aggression, any more than will the reunification of Germany, which also consists of one people." The committee has before it contradictory resolutions on Korea which, on the one hand, would have the United Nations forces there withdrawn, and, on the other, reiterates strong support for the U.N. forces there. Another, Socialist blockbacked, resolution calls for an end to the discussion of the Korean question in the world forum.
