LAND FOR FORESTS
Purchase On East Coast
(N.Z. Press Association; WELLINGTON, October 7. A further 10,000 acres of land had been purchased for afforestation and development on the east coast, the Minister of Forests (Mr Maclntyre) said today. Known as the Gate Station, the land is in the Tapuaeroa Valley, near Ruatoria. With the 10,000 acre Rip Station, bought some months ago, 20,000 acres was now available to the Forest Ser-1 vice to develop further al viable programme for protective and commercial afforestation, Mr Maclntyre said. |
