The Christchurch City Council traffic department is expected to come under the control of the Ministry of Transport on November L When asked in Parliament today if there had been any delays in negotiations, the Minister of Transport (Mr Gordon) said there had been none. Mr C. C. A. McLachlan (Nat, Selwyn) also asked what stage negotiations had reached. “Agreement on the terms of the proposed change has been readied by the Christchurch City Council and the Ministry of Transport.” Mr Gordon said. “Reports have been prepared by the Treasury and the State Services Commission, and the Cabinet Committee on Government Administration is now studying an over-all submission seeking approval of a new establishment for the Ministry of Transport. “In addition. Parliament will be asked at the proper time to make provision in the supplementary estimates for the expenditure involved.”
