The Indonesian armed forces’ bulletin today quoted the Foreign Minister (Mr Adam Malik) as saying that there were no more, problems in the United Nations on the West Irian issue. The bulletin said that Mr Malik told New York reporters that any United Nations delegation which wanted to discuss West Irian in the General Assembly had a right to do so, but be added: “The act of free choice in West Irian is not to be discussed any more because the Indonesian people in West Irian have completed the act of free choice properly, showing that they are determined to remain within Indonesia. “The United Nations is, of course, a forum for each delegation to speak freely, but there are no more problems on West Irian.” The United Nations and Indonesian reports on the act of free choice are due to be tabled during the present General Assembly session, and it is not yet known if. any country will ask for a debate.
