City Building Increase

Greater building activity was shown by permits issued by the Christchurch City Council last month. The 289 permits issued had a value of $1,306,481. In June last year there were 273 permits with a value of $1,171,307. The greatest activity was in home building. The 45 permits issued had a value of $382,360. Twelve months ago there were 41 permits for a value of $312,434. There were 13 permits for new flats providing 42 units at a cost of $253,561, against nine for 22 units valued at $107,850.
