CHAS BEGG LOSS
No Dividend To Be Paid Charles Begg and Company, Ltd, the Dunedin-based electrical and musical group, anounced a group net trading loss of about $l5 00 for the year to March 31. The directors say that, although the result is a marked Improvement on last year, they have decided not to recommend a dividend. The loss is left after bringing into account a recovery of $90,000 from the provision for doubtful debts, created' last year. “Allowing, however, for non-trading credits of $60,000 and after providing 814,000 for minority interests, the earnings attributable to members of Charles Begg are $31,000,” they say.
