One of the most impressive members of the All Black team in the two teste against Wales was B. E. McLeod, the Counties hooker, who has represen. ted New Zealand since 1964.

The second test at Auckland last Saturday was McLeod’s twenty-second appearance in an inter-

national match. He has now equalled D. Young’s record ot teste for New Zealand as a hooker. McLeod is a tremendously swift striker, and hie feat of taking 10 tight heads to none in the two games against Wales stamped him as probably the best hooker in the world at present In the Auckland test he passed another milestone his fiftieth tight head in teste. A strong, robust player, McLeod Is good value in the rucks and his speed has made him an asset in the close passing rushes by the forwards. New Zealand scored seven tries in the two games against Wales, and the everpresent McLeod scored one and had a hand in the scoring of three others.
