OTAGO WINS CLUB GOLF
Otago won the Hanmer Shield Hoursomes) and the CampbellHosklng Shield (singles) when it played its annual inter-club golf match against Christchurch at Shirley. The four-ball Friendly Shield matches were all won by Christchurch. Results (Otago names first):— Hanmer Shield (foursomes).— R. D. Kearns and T. C. Tyrrell lost to J. D. Bull and A. W. Robinson by 3 holes, P. Searle and H. A. Sime beat R. B. Grey and H. W. Revell by 2 holes. A. J. Taylor and J. R. Myles beat C. J. Ward and G. p. Latimer by 2 holes. W. Paterson and J. A. Skinner beat G. Chapman and T. P. Laffey by 6 holes. Otago won by seven holes. Campbell-Hoskihg Shield (singles).—Kearns beat Robinson, 5 and 3: Tyrrell lost to Bull, 3 and 2; Searle lost to Grey, 5 and 4: Myles beat Revell, 8 and 7; Paterson drew with Latimer; Taylor lost to Ward, 2 and 1; Sime beat Laffey, 2 and 1; Skinner beat Chapman. 1 up. Otago won. 41 matches to 31. Friendly Shield (four ball).— Saturday matches: H. M. James and A. C. Macdonald lost to E. S. Williams and E. R. Blakely. 3 anti 2: A. H. Giles and M. Butterfield lost to A. 0. Hawkins and S. F. Lambert, 4 and 2: S. A. Winter and T. Fraser lost to A. R. Mehalski. and, R. C. Saunders, 2 up: A. F. Ross and J. D. Wilde lost to H. B. E. Stevens and D. L. Taylor, 2 up. i Sunday matches: James and Macdonald lost to Stevens and Taylor. 4 and 2; Giles and Butterfield lost to Mehalski and Saunders, 5 and 4; Winter and Fraser lost to Hawkins and i Lambert, 4 and 3; Ross and Wilde lost to Williams and Blakely, 1 up. Christchurch 1 won the Friendly Shield, 8 match to 0.
