Roads Board Subsidy
The Christchurch City Council estimates that it will receive $810,154 from the National Roads Board this year for subsidised works and works subject to grant. It has allocated the expenditure as follows: streets and bridges, $607,000; street marking, $6000; street lighting, $70,300; loan servicing, $90,854; traffic control lights for the area control system, $36,000. Last year the council received $769,730 from the boards It had estimated for $750,325.
