Escameno Picked At Awapuni
"The Press" Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. The locally-owned Escameno is expected to gain his first win at Awapuni In the Palmeraton North Handicap on the opening day of the Manawatu Racing Club’s winter meeting tomorrow.
Escameno, which at his latest appearance was a bold third to Meldie In strong company at Trentham, has trained on well aince. Escameno’s main rival Is likely to be Jovial Friar, which finished brilliantly for second at Masterton last time he raced. Bijall has the best credentials of the sprinters in . the Stewards* Handicap, second leg of the main double. She was second at Otaki and an unlucky third at Foxton at her last two starts.
