EXPORTS TO PACIFIC
slm Orders For N.Z. Firm The Dominion Radio and Electrical Corporation, a ! manufacturing subsidiary of I the Charles Begg group of[ companies, has secured export i orders in the South Pacific region worth Sim. Mr C. A. Pearson, manag-ing-director of the Charles Begg group, said the orders were for commercial freezer units, freezers for the domestic trade and refrigerators for caravans, hotels, motels and restaurants. All units would be delivered during the current year. The orders had already fulfilled the 1969 export target for this product range, which was set three years ago after the first consignment in 1965 of 570.000 worth of refrigeration equipment to Pacific markets. Achievement of the 1969 ex- ; port target so early in the j year indicated that final ex-i port income would substan-1 tially exceed the group's expectations. The refrigeration equipment will be produced at the [ corporation's Christchurch i and Otahuhu plants. The export order was secured after a tour of export markets by Mr E. Robson. His trip also resulted in the ’negotiation of licence arrangeIments for the manufacture ini i New Zealand of new products in the electronics, musical instrument and microwave cooker fields.
