Narrow Win To St Andrew’s
St Andrew’s College beat Jimaru Boys’ High School by 16 runs in their annual cricket match at St Andrew’s yesterday. Timaru, which led by 41 runs on the first day, had to score 109 in its second innings to win but was dismissed by the consistent St Andrew’s mediumpace attack for 93. Scores. —St Andrews 111 and 150 (G. Marshall 52 not out. P. Johnston 21: G. Ritchie 6/47, B. Andrews 4/56), Timaru B.H.S. 152 and 93 (A. Dickson 27. M. Gilbert 22: D. Livesy 4/23, P. McEwan 4/27).
