TAYLOR’S MISTAKE

Opposition To Housing

There was a shortage of land for housing development and the board would be wrong if it opposed the City Council’s, planning Scheme to provide land at Taylor’s Mistake, Mr G. Ogilvie said at the Christchurch Drainage Board’s meeting last evening. Mr P. J. McWilliam, the chief engineer, said an area to the east of Taylor’s Mistake Road had not been reticulated for sewers. It had been listed as a miscellaneous work in a schedule when the board applied to the Local Authorities Loans Board for a $1.75m loan, which had been reduced to slm. The board agreed to object to the inclusion of 65 acres of Taylor’s Mistake land as residential 1.
