The fashion for shorter skirts has created a demand for a new style of stocking. , Panty-hose has proved very ] popular with wearers of mini- . skirts throughout the world, , but this garment has some , disadvantages. Panty-hose can be uncomfortably hot in sum- , mer and a ladder means the , whole garment has to be ( thrown away. hose—superb fit without the need for unsightly suspender belts or res trictlng girdles—without the disadvantages. Several styles were develope(j an d placed on the market overseas and from these the most practical and popular has been selected and is now available in New Zealand. Designed to meet all the needs of modern fashion, the new style stocking has become very popular in both America and England and already a big demand appears to be building up in New Zealand. The new hosiery could be described either as hip-high stockings or “no panty” panty-hose. Coming right up to the hips, the stockings have a slim waistband that fastens easily at front and back, thus holding them, as one unit, firmly but gently in place throughout the day. Girdles or suspender belts are! unnecessary. The new stockings are cool I !and more comfortable in hoti weather and the legs are re-!
